AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE

Cottage Meetings

I have always appreciated a house meeting, cottage prayer meeting such as this, more than—than I guess people could think that I would, because the finest meetings and the finest times of fellowship is usually in a little cottage prayer meeting like this. Where I have felt the closest to God, is when just a little handful of the believers comes together, and there we worship.

It has always been thus with the family of God...

In the book of Acts, the believers went from home to home spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, edifying and exhorting one another, breaking bread, washing one another's feet and having communion. From the earliest times, we see God meeting with His people "at their homes," going all the way back to Eden itself, where God came down to His creation in the cool of the evening.

For years, the "cottage meeting" or in-home gathering of believers as some call it has been a precious part of the life of Scarborough Spoken Word Christian Fellowship. Sometimes formal but most times very informal. Always remembering that "wherever twos and threes are gathered together IN His Name," THERE He promised to be - in the midst to bless.
